Hi i am 6+2 weeks and self referred to the midwife. I had a confirmation email and noticed it’s badger notes. It didn’t tell me to down load the app or anything. Do I need to download the app and create an account before my booking appointment ? Or do I wait to be booked first ? I wasn’t sure if my midwife appointment would be be booked through that, or if they directly contact me 😂 I haven’t had a baby since it was hand held notes 13 years ago 😂 so very new to all this lol x

My midwife gave me a code at my booking appointment which I needed to create the account I think, but my area isn't self referred you have to go through your GP so don't know if that makes any difference.

In my trust, you'll get another email at some point asking you to download Badger Notes and giving you the link etc.

We were asked to fill in a questionnaire from there prior to booking in. And then when I turned up to my appointment, the questionnaire was basically all the booking in qs, so I only had to do the weigh in, breath of test, bloods and urine sample. Made it all very quick, especially as I wouldn't have considered taking my DH's doctors details to the appointment tbh.

I got a separate email a couple of weeks later when they had actually processed my referral with a passcode. No harm in downloading the app now so it’s ready but you won’t be able to do anything with it until you have the passcode

Thank you I will look out for the email. I did the self referral 2 weeks ago. I wanted to see the GP for the higher dose folic acid and the receptionist said I had to do it. Still haven’t had any email though. If I don’t hear by 8 weeks I will give the GP a call. Who will the email be from I will have search in my spam too. Would it be badger or nhs ? X
