Hey so I've caught thread worms from my daughter im absolutely mortified now that I've found out I can't have anything due to being 10 weeks pregnant 😫 I've treated her and my partner, I've scrubbed everywhere, changing bedsheets daily, showering everyone first thing in morning. Really looking fpr some positive stories regarding shifting these horrible things just by hygiene. I'll still have possibly 30 week left untill I can be treated and I'm panicking like crazy.
Thank in advance for all positive stories

They do fizzle out with good hygiene to break the cycle. Underwear in bed to stop spreading via scratching, and good finger nail hygiene. 👍

Oh that is a relief how long does it usually take? I read the life cycle is usually 6 weeks just need to hope I don't manage to reinfect myself.. it's been a whirlwind since the school holidays have started the first day she came out in a rash turns out she has slapped cheek so now I'm waiting on my blood results to see if I have immunity fingers crossed I do and everything will be okay. It's literally been one thing after the other lately x

I mentioned this to my GP as I read it can be used in 2nd trimester and she said she cant recommend that I take it and that it is up to me if I do which doesn't sound very reassuring however the pharmacy will not sell to me if it's for me to take as they are not licensed to sell it to pregnant women 😳.

I would maintain the basic hygiene indefinitely as they are always picking them up from school.

There should be info around as to what are the key points you can break the cycle, via routine hygiene.

Just not the initial mad frenzy 💕

I was told by my Gp that I couldn’t take it and advised to speak to my obstetrics Dr which I did and she said it’s safe to take and prescribed me it. They don’t recommend in the first trimester though I’m sure. I am in my third. I haven’t yet taken it as I thought they were gone but I plan on taking it this weekend. If you look on the bumps website it gives you information on taking it when pregnant and this is what obstetrics go by for giving pregnant woman mediation I was told xx
