Does anyone not "feel pregnant" at nearly 19weeks?

this may sound weird but now the sickness has stopped I dont "feel" pregnant. this is #2 and had a really rough 9 months with DS. this time i dont feel ill or too tired, i have a bit of a bump but i am 19 weeks and never really got a flat stomach after DS. i dont have any real movements yet - the odd flutter that is sort of like wind.

i know i'm just being paranoid and hormonal as i have no reason to think the baby isnt doing fine (no bleeding, pains etc etc) but i just dont feel pregnant

is this normal?

definitly - i am far too impatient to wait until september! although its not hospital policy to tell you the sex here in scotland i work in the hospital so know the consultant doing the scan. fingers crossed she will tell me as she did last time. if not, its the scottish baby show next friday and they are doing gender scans for £60 at the show.

i really am inpatient

did you find out?

Well dh wanted to find out this time so I reluctantly agreed. But I didnt ask during the scan. I asked the mw after. She was quite snotty and said I should have asked during the scan and it was too late now.

The sonographer never asked me, and I didnt realize they dont mention anything unless you ask.

Didnt realize how much I had talked myself into wanting to find out. Feel quite dissapointed.

May have to convince dh into having a 3d scan again
(although I know of 5 recently that were wrong)

5 that were wrong! that's quite alot. i thought it was easy to tell boys. which scanning place did they all go to?

with DS he was "sunbathing" so it was really obvious that he was a boy iykwim

LOL at the sunbabthing. I am sure I saw what could indicate a little boy.
5 is a lot that was just recently but when my dd was born last year I knew of at least 3/4 that were wrong.
It wasnt the 3d scans though. It was at the local hospital (anomoly scan).

fledtoscotland · 18/04/2008 16:47

tbh i dont know of any that were wrong. because the hospital dont tell you here people have to get a 3d scan so there's less chance of an error.

btw do you have an email address? we could chat more and i can give you details of a site i help run

hi all just thought id post a lil reply, im gonna be 19 weeks on monday and i dont feel preggers at all. this is my 2nd baby i have a ds and i paid to have a private gender scan at babybond to c wot i was havin as i was so desprite to no lol . and we are have a girl. this pregnancy is so different, dont feel tired or havent been sick, jus keep gettin migrains.i keep worrying now as havent felt her move yet and i felt my ds really early. got my scan on 2nd may so hopefully everything will still be ok.im jus so paranoid as i dont look preggers it jus looks like fat as well, and wen i lay down theres only a very lil bump. ive had a mmc at 13 weeks aswell

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/04/2008 14:53

Hi stephshaw so sorry about your mmc
But congratulations on your pregnancy. (one of each
I cant decide whether to go for another 3d scan or just wait and see like last time. I had no desire to find out last time, but must admit getting very curious now.
I sympathise with the migrains I suffer with them without being pregnant.
Lack of movement is making me so paranoid, I keep laying on my back because thats when I tend to feel movement.

the second trimester is the good period as sickness and tirdness goes adn it is not til the third trimester when things get uncomfortable so make the most of it
i am almost 16 weeks and keep forgetting i am preggers! it may be because most of us are on our second baby so too distracted with the first. when i was pregnant with my ds it is all i could think about, from the baby to the stuff to get and how it will change my life. now i suppose i am in denial!!
you will only feel pregnant when you get an obvious pregnancy bump. mune jsut looks as though i have eaten all the crisps pies!

iliketosleep · 19/04/2008 19:25

I'm 23 weeks tomorrow and despite the huge gut, the heartburn that makes me want to cut my own throat and little madam who uses my bladder as her own personal trampoline day and night...

I keep forgetting im pregnant
