Hi,

I have been thinking to have an NIPT test. I have my 12w scan in a week and a half but I feel the NIPT would be more accurate ( or maybe is how they sell to you?)
I live in Cambridgeshire area. Any mums who did it, what place do you recommend?

Ta!

Hey, I have my NIPT booked for Saturday, yes they are more accurate, however I wouldn't have opted to have one but at my 12 week scan (twice) they were unable to get measurements due to the position of the baby. I don't feel secure enough not to know if things are ok, so opted for NIPT at a hefty price!! Hope your scan goes well 😊

With what clinic did you take the test, if you don't mind me asking. There're some they do the 3 syndromes and others add the cromosomical anomalies. So i am not sure what to do.

I live in the West Midlands and my baby is an IVF baby that I went through The Priory Hospital with, so have opted to have it there, it is more expensive at £550 but I feel comfortable with the consultant. I have seen lists of people recommend window to the womb if that helps. Xx

I had a look to window to the womb anf while booking there was a mention about leaving 2 weeks scans. I have my 12w scan next Friday (02/08) so I cannot do that until 2 weeks after my nhs scan... I wanted to get it done to have a sooner reassurance.... Anyway.... I'll have to wait until the NHS one. 😢

I am sure there is nothing to worry about and you won't need the NIPT :) Please let me know how it goes xx

Hi @Piluka did you end up having a private scan + NIPT done? Where did you do it? Looking do it as well in the Cambridgeshire area. Hope everything is well with the pregnancy!

Piluka · 03/09/2024 21:51

Hi @Loute02 i didn't having the NIPT test as I ended with an Amnio because of the 12w scan. Anyway, I did have a look and I was about to book the NIPT through "window to the womb" they have in Cambridge, Peterborough, etc. It was recommended and they seemed quite good for the reviews I heard. But as I said I ended up with something different.

@Loute02 did you get it? Any news about it?

Hey @Piluka I'm still too early (6w tomorrow) but stressing about it for some reason. I have an early scan next week and if everything is fine and measuring as it should, I'll book the NIPT through window to the womb mid October 😊

Piluka · 11/09/2024 15:46

I thought you were around the right time to do so. Sorry @Loute02 i didn't know. That's the best thing at least it would be one thing less to be concerned about. I felt super relieved once the results were back. I'm glad you're going with them. I heard good things from them so, I hope everything's fine with you. Let me know how the 12wks scan goes. 😊❤️

I have my 20wks scan on the 24th so, fingers crossed everything's fine and baby growing accordingly. 🤞🤞
