Can only feel baby move on the lower left side - 18 weeks

I know this might sound strange, and it's not even my first pregnancy, but when the baby started moving around last week, ever since, I've only felt the moves and kicks on the left side, quite low down. I remember with my other baby, it was quite central, or in different places, it's only in the one spot. I'm worried there is some obstruction of some kind and the baby doesn't have enough room to move around. Has anyone else noticed this?

It might just be due to the position of the placenta. You won't feel as much movement if it has to be transmitted through the thick placenta. You will probably feel more as the uterus grows.

with an anterior placenta you get this. it acts as a cushion between you and the baby, muffling the movements. it also limits where the mw can hear a heartbeat.

Hi, my placenta is anterior (according to my scan) and I feel hardly any movement apart from really low down near to my pubic bone.

I noticed that the doppler I had last week also had to be placed near to my pubic bone so I'm guessing the placenta is in the way.

This is my 4th baby so really should be feeling the movements lots by now (18 weeks). Not worried though as I though it'd be something to do with the placenta's position

mum3bagain I really wouldn't worry about it but if you are, mention it at your next clinic appointment.
