Can anyone recommend a Moses basket please? Bay due in October. Ds used it lots in 2020 but that one is worse for wear. Happy to spend a bit on it. I know some people don't like them, found them a waste of money etc but I would like another one so just recommendations on good ones please.

Only unicorn babies sleep in them. If the one you had for your first baby worked I'd get another like that. Neither of mine slept except in my arms

We have the Shnuggle Dreami and loved it when we bought it for our youngest. It's a plastic shell, not wicker, so is quieter if your baby moves and can also be fully cleaned. It's also one of the biggest moses baskets on the market, so it's not outgrown as quickly as some of them. I'll definitely be using it with this baby!

Just get a basic moses basket on a stand. Pick one up on ebay. They last maybe 6 months max if you have a very tiny very still child can be used for downstairs naps as well as sleeping next to your bed if you have a smaller bedroom. They are all much of a muchness. You should be able to pick one up in asda or aldi baby event or a tesco extra or argos.

Don't get any bells and whistles do get a couple of fitted sheets to go on the mattress, ideally get a couple of waterproof sheets . I remember putting a towel under the sheet to minimise the risk of poo leak getting to mattress.

By the time you've bought bedding you'll be glad you didn't over invest in the basket.

I bought a flat waterproof sheet and continued to use it when the dc moved to cot. You can line the pram base as well with it so it's a better investment than the basket. You need one on and one to wash.

Agree, get a basic cheap one tbh

Even better if you already have children then you probably know people who have one (with bedding) to give away / lend. Definitely ask about. Ours stuck around as a soft toy storage for ages and was glad to finally give it away.

Iv have the next to me style ones this time as there abit bigger and I can see if them from side as I didn’t like that I couldn’t see them without looking over top last time x

I'm going to go against all advice you'll get on Mumsnet but I rate a moses basket. I got the snuz moses basket because it's the biggest one so last longer. My baby preferred it over the next to me for around 4 months and it's easy to move around the house. Even after he stopped sleeping in it at night he used it for naps until 5.5 months. He was 75th centile.
