Hi,

My baby is due 2nd October and I'm just planning his coming home outfit from the hospital.

I'm unsure whether to pack a snowsuit or pram suit not sure what they are called. I just thought a vest, sleep suit, a cardigan, a hat and a blanket In his car seat would be warm enough for him to bring him home. However I'm seeing mixed things online so I'm unsure, I'm a first time mam so I'm just not 100% sure and wanted some advice 😊

If you're coming home in a car seat then I def wouldnt go for a snowsuit, it'll be too bulky. Vest, babygrow, maybe cardigan and a hat, and then add a blanket!

My first was born in mid October and we did what you suggested. They can’t wear anything bulky in the car seat anyway.

You would need to remove a snowsuit/pramsuit before putting baby in the car seat anyway, so a blanket makes much more sense.

Doesn't need a snowsuit. Brought mine home on 15th October and he had exactly what you are planning. Baby will barely be outside anyway. Two minutes walking to car and two minutes walking into house. Baby doesn't need anything else.

Depends on the weather too! Last couple of Septembers have been quite hot still so who knows if December will even be cold. Definitely can be in a car seat with a snow or pram suit. Thin layers with a blanket and hat if chilly will be perfectly fine x

No point with a snowsuit or pramsuit if your using a car seat.
Better off with thin layers that you can add and remove easily.
When transporting from hospital to car add a thick cosy blanket and hat. And you can remove these easily once warmed up in the car.
I made that mistake with a thick hoody and the Midwives were like ummmm you need to remove that before you set off.
This time having a July baby BUT this weather is bipolar so I 2 colder outfits plus 2 wintery outfits 😭

A vest, sleepsuit, cardigan and blanket will be fine in the car.

Snowsuits/padded coats aren't safe in a car seat, the straps won't fit properly. Lots of parents still make that mistake well into toddlerhood, our nursery is constantly reminding parents to take off coats to go home!
Just take lots of thinner layers and don't stress it too much 😁
