Hi everyone,

Hope you’re ok! I’m 13 weeks and for some of yesterday and most of today I’ve had quite uncomfortable constant pulling pains. Is this normal? I’ve read about round ligament pain but it’s not one sided and feels quite low down in my groin and all up to my belly button. Is it just growing pains? I haven’t had any bleeding the whole pregnancy and my 12 week scan last week was perfect, but it’s a much longed for IVF baby and I’m extra anxious.

Thanks 🙏
Holly

Yes this is ligament pain op it can be quite strong especially if it's your first pregnancy as everything is stretching and moving

Peonies12 · 20/07/2024 06:38

I had similar throughout my pregnancy! All sorts of cramps; stretching etc. fine at 30 weeks now

Gettingannoyednow · 20/07/2024 06:38

Totally normal. Congratulations 💐

HopefulllHolly · 20/07/2024 08:41

Thanks ladies! I thought ligament pain was more when just doing sudden movement and not constant. 😅 Glad it’s nothing to worry about! Have lovely weekends x

@HopefulllHolly I'm still getting lots of different pains - cramps, brief sharp stabbing pains, stretching all low down under the bump. I get round ligament pain when I sneeze!
I'm assuming it's all normal as baby is growing quickly now and everything is stretching.

Mumoftwo1316 · 20/07/2024 08:50

It definitely could be round ligament pain but it usually starts later than that.

Just to be on the safe side, if I were you I'd tell your midwife and do a urine sample, maybe next time you're near the clinic. UTIs can give you groin cramping in pregnancy.

It can't hurt to mention it and do a sample. At my midwife's, you don't need to make an appointment for that.

@DippyDuck19 Ah thanks - didn’t want to ask on the other group after dogmums day. They are very painful and kind of feel like the pulling pain you have with period pains. But not as strong.

@Mumoftwo1316 Thanks I’ll mention it to her and see. Doesn’t feel like a uti but could be.

Hi OP, just wondered how you got on with this? I'm having similar, and it's often worse when I pee. I wondered if it was a uti but had 2 urine tests, and antibiotics just in case, and it's still there. I've had for a couple of weeks, 13 weeks today x

HopefulllHolly · 10/10/2024 21:02

@Ttcpph Hi! Yeah it was just my uterus and stuff, not a UTI. I’m 25 weeks now and baby is fine. Great you got tested for UTIs and nothing there, I reckon it’s probably the same as mine and nothing to worry about. Mine went away fairly quickly after I had posted about it I think! 😊

Thank you so much for replying! Mines an ivf baby too so the anxiety is sky high!
Hope you have a happy and healthy rest of your pregnancy 😊

@Ttcpph Thank you! You too! ☺️ Im sure everything is fine but if you are worrying then message your midwife. I got lots of pulling and stretching and odd feelings, but then we are growing little humans. I wish I could say the anxiety gets better but I’ve only just calmed down now! 😂😂 Good luck I’m sure it’s going to be fab xx
