Did the VSD close during your pregnancy? Anything particular you did to encourage that?

Hello

We had a scan at 15+3 weeks and doctor did the initial organ scan (the detailed one at 19/20 weeks). He spotted a small VSD of 1.5mm and says it could close during pregnancy and that it’s typically 33% likely.

My question now is specifically to ladies who have dealt with this issue and saw the bad close during pregnancy — was there anything you did / avoided or were encouraged to do or avoid to aid the hole closing?

Totally appreciate it’s likely out of our hands but I can’t help but wonder if I should be doing something..

TIA x

We found two vsds at 25 weeks..one of which was small and they said was likely to close up and the other large which they said likely wouldn't.

I had a second scan 6 weeks later and the little hole has disappeared and the larger one shrunk so significantly they had to really search for it. At that point they said it would likely close on its own in early childhood but even if it didn't it's position would likely mean it wouldn't cause any real issues.

At birth a few weeks later she had no mummers and she was energetic and fed well so had a scan I think at 4-5 months old and confirmed all healed!!

Not sure what I did to help it. When it was found the extra scan was due to just being diagnosed as diabetic so after that got my sugars under control but think it's really just luck of the draw)..

Good luck
