Gifts for mum-to-be Baby Shower

Hi everyone,

I'm currently planning a baby shower for my cousin who is due her second girl very soon. Because it's her second daughter, she pretty much has everything she needs for baby.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what we could buy for mum that she'd use/love after she gives birth?

Thanks so much!

HeyShayla on Youtube had amazing ideas.

Have a Food Prep/ Meal prep party. The one I saw every one bought ingredients for 1 dish and they all made it on the day. I thought that was fantastic. Stocking up the freezer.
Other things such as Meal delivery services. Not just Hello Fresh but some people have services local where they will make the food and bring it around.

Nappies cakes! Who will say no to supply of nappies and wet wipes and other very essential items. Washes / shampoos etc - Ask Mama what brand she likes to used and put it together.

Collecting funds for a Postpartum Doula / Cleaner / carer of some sort. This one is genius! Who would say no to having a cleaner pop around once a week for the newborn stage! Not me!!!!!!

Postpartum help with DC1 if they are not in full time nursery / school yet. Take the child out to the park even for a couple hours here and there. Offer to take child out etc. Maybe set up a rota of there are a few who can help.

Also instead of cards! People can buy books and leave a note on the inside some cards coat as much as books these days. And they will get use out of it!

As someone who is due any day now Baby No.2 I WISH I had any of the above planned for me! I would be sooooo happy.

Never heard of a baby shower for baby 2! Seem a bit OTT. But I'd get vouchers for food delivery like COOK, or takeaway.

Yes, I’d agree that while baby showers are becoming somewhat more usual, they’re not generally held for subsequent children.

It's not a proper baby shower, just a little gathering to celebrate the new baby's arrival 😊

Thanks for your suggestions everyone 😊

For a second-time mom, I’d recommend focusing on gifts that pamper and support her post-birth. Some great ideas could be a cozy robe, a luxurious skincare set, or a thoughtful meal delivery service to make life easier after the baby arrives.

In my experience, creating a registry made it easier to include both baby and mom-focused gifts, ensuring the mom gets something special too. MyRegistry is a great option for setting up a list with both types of gifts, so everyone knows exactly what to get!

For her baby shower, a friend asked for the attendees to gift their favourite childhood book.
