Worried about vanishing twin syndrome

Hi ladies
start of the month I had an early scan at 6 weeks which confirmed twins! Seperate sacs and placentas.
I had no idea what vanishing twin syndrome was until now, it came up while I was doing some research. Omg I cannot stop worrying. We have been so excited to be having twins and now I feel like we should have waited to hold that excitement!
How common is this vanishing twin with the kind of twins I have?
One sac was 27mm x 19mm x 15mm CRL 4.6mm
Other sac was 19mm x 17mm x 15mm CRL 4mm
Heartbeats both strong

so one is slightly smaller now I cannot stop worrying?!
I know there is not much people can say until I have another scan I just wanted to vent. I have already told my mum and sister it is twins and joined twin groups. Now I feel stupid I should have waited maybe!!

Hi, I had an early scan around 7+5 when they said there were 2 sacs but nothing in one so "vanishing twin syndrome" was basically already confirmed.

If they have found 2 strong heartbeats that's great ❤️ when's your next scan? Xx

my next scan is on Thursday so I will be nearly 10 weeks. I know I can only wait till then. But I had no idea what it was and now cannot stop over thinking and feeling a bit silly to get excited.

@Kt1704 Please can I ask how you're getting on? I had a scan last week that revealed I'm pregnant with twins. Both heartbeats seen, but Twin A is 3 days behind Twin B, but the lady scanning said that's normal. I'm feeling really anxious about my next scan xx

One twin is always smaller than the other, that doesn't really mean anything. If both have heartbeats, that's a good sign.

@WallsH20 Absolutely fine! 12 week scan went well. Twin B is 2 days behind but they go bigger twin to date the pregnancy. Hope you’re well! X

@Kt1704 Aw that's great news, congratulations☺️I'm going to try and relax now! I've been told we're having identical twins which I think makes me more nervous! I wish I'd never heard of Vanishing Twin🤦🏼‍♀️
