36 +3 and feeling odd

Hi,
I'm currently 36+3 with baby boy and just feel odd.
I've had some braxton hicks for a couple of weeks and what I thought was a few close calls. However yesterday I was extremely exhausted from doing nothing but the normal taking ds to school, cleaning and shopping. I was in bed by 10.30 and slept through my partner leaving for work and my 4 alarms this morning. But today I feel even odder I suppose? Like I'm nervous or on edge. I feel like I need to be doing something, my thoughts are racing and my arms and legs are shakey.
I've been having to use the bathroom a lot this morning (tmi) and have a weird feeling of pressure downstairs like I constantly need to pee but haven been checked for uti and don't have any. I also have a very dull backache. It's not painful but I'm aware it's there.
Is this just normal for this stage of pregnancy? It's been a while since I had my ds so I can't remember. I'm currently taking b12, iron tablets and clexane injections so I thought it was possible it might just be due to the medication

Sorry for the rant.

Honestly, others may say don't bother the NHS, but I would ring the maternity unit. They will probably just say you're approaching birth but the midwives I know (and I work in maternity, though am not a midwife) would say 'feeling odd' should be flagged up.

I felt like this on and off at the end. I was knackered and comfortable enough to sleep 10 hours +’

from 37 weeks with my first and give birth at 38+5
at 38+0 I was like I am going into labour any seconddddd-!?!! I was nervous about baby’s arrival… And it took 5 more days 😅

if you are worried get it checked but if you want reassurance it’s pretty normal it is

trevthecat · 16/07/2024 11:20

I agree with above. Better to check. I think it's nearly time though!!

It could be labour your describing so you should call your midwife. Racing heart and thoughts is a sign of labour too. Good luck

Thank you guys for the replies.
I've phoned my midwife and she went through some routine questions, said I can phone labour ward if I want to and they will be more than happy to check me over. If I develop a fever or start to feel sick I need to get checked. But she thinks it's probably the start of something happening so I need to be aware of contractions starting or any leaking waters.
I'm hoping I've still got another week or so before baby decides he wants to appear
I just feel like I can't sit still, like I need to be doing something. It's maddening

@Fatandtired12 this is so strange to come across your post but I’m feeling EXACTLY the same! I’m currently 35+4 and the knot feeling in my stomach and nervous feeling just won’t subside, it’s gave me the runs & this morning I thought I was going to be sick. I’ve also had a lot of pressure in my lower back and tummy. Pregnancy really is a whirlwind isn’t it! This will be my first so I keep telling myself it’s probably me just being anxious ha!
