4 negative pregnancy tests and used protection, could I be pregnant?

Hi,
3 weeks ago I had protected sex whilst ovulating. My period has been 7 days late but I experienced a light period after 7 days which is still continuing for a third day.
I have done 4 pregnancy tests and all were negative but one pregnancy test turned positive when I looked at it 24 hours later outside the 10-15 minute window.
Is there any chance I could be pregnant and it wasn’t a false positive? I’ve taken tests after and they were all negative.
I am also concerned the period I am experiencing is implantation bleeding?
Any ideas and help would be rly appreciated x

24 hours later the pregnancy test isn't going to be accurate, so I wouldn't use that result as an indicator.

Implantation bleeding I have never known to last for 3+ days, only a little on one day in my experience.

Is this 3 day light period not just a light period? Rather than anything else, just slightly late perhaps?

I think very unlikely. You'd be showing strongly positive if you were three weeks along after conception.

@keylimedog thank you for your help, yes it could be a late period. I usually have a very regular period which is why I wondered if it was implantation bleeding.

Most likely a late period since all your tests are negative.

Once a pregnancy test has gone out with the time window then it’s no longer accurate so looking at it 24 hours later was an evap line instead of a positive line.

It may be that you’re a bit irregular this month as I’d expect a positive test to show by now.

@alex123marina

Like I mentioned I've never known it for 3 days but tbh people are all so individual! I guess you could see how it progresses and also test again in a few weeks for peace of mind?

I know it's definitely tough trusting the tests when you feel different or that something is odd - I've definitely been there enough 😂

Thank you, the three day period I’m having it bright red as well. I’m not sure if this is correct but I read most implantation bleeding is pink or brown in colour?

I did actually have a very small amount of red, but this was 8 days after ovulation and I tested positive 2 days later. Your dates don't tally with implantation.

How certain are you about your ovulation date?

pointlessopportunity · 15/07/2024 20:57

Three tests say negative and you're having a period

Im sorry but you're not pregnant

pointlessopportunity · 15/07/2024 20:59

Four tests!! They can't all be wrong

mnahmnah · 15/07/2024 21:07

How old are you?

I had this twice in the last few months, totally out of the norm. Must be peri.

alex123marina · 15/07/2024 21:07

@sirensong I’m quite certain about ovulation dates as my period is always regular. It’s been three weeks roughly since i was ovulating and 3 weeks since I had sex. I read implantation is also usually 8-14 days after conception, so yes the dates don’t match.

@mnahmnah Thanks, I’m 21

If your period is so late you probably ovulated late. If your period really was 7 days late due to pregnancy then you'd be getting strong positives by now. I think if the only time you had sex was 3 weeks ago then the chances of you being pregnant are pretty much zero.

HopefulllHolly · 18/07/2024 14:56

I think you most likely ovulated a week later than usual and you’re just having your period.

HopefulllHolly · 18/07/2024 14:58

Unless you are testing for ovulation then you can’t be sure of when you ovulate. Periods and cycles can just be off sometimes, no matter how regular you are.
