First scan at 10 weeks?

I've been booked in for the above, first pregnancy. Anyone else had this? I thought it's supposed to be done at 12 weeks? I'll keep the appointment though because I'm too excited.

The dating scan in our area is around 10-12 weeks, mine was at 10 weeks (well, turned out they put me back a few days so was only 9+5ish). Think it just depends on the area tbh.

Yep dating scan round here is 9-10 weeks but you don't get a 12 week scan if you have one.

By 10 weeks you should be able to see a heartbeat which means the risk of miscarriage is significantly reduced. That's why they moved it from six weeks apparently - lots of people go at six weeks and get scared because the fetal HB is not yet working.
