10 weeks and no belly

Hi,

Recently I was checking how the belly looks at 10 weeks and most of the pictures I've seen women have a noticeable belly. Comparing this pictures to myself I look like I put on weigh a couple of kilos. It doesn't look a pregnant belly at all. I have a normal complexion (size 10) so I thought it would be quite noticeable around the end of the first trimester. That's true size 10 trousers are a bit tight atm but I still fit in them, as I said I looked if I gain some weight in general.

Tbh, I am a little bit worried if the baby is not developing properly or something is wrong with it.

Anyone had the same issue?

10 weeks and no belly
itistooeasy · 15/07/2024 08:20

are you overweight?

Butterflyfern · 15/07/2024 08:20

I was the same. Am now 25weeks and have a small, but growing, bump. I can't fit into anything with a waist anymore (trousers/non-stretchy dresses) but other than that am still mostly wearing my size 10 wardrobe. I have some maternity jeans, but they're too big, so I bought a couple of Uniqlo skirts in a large and they're comfortable for now.

I didn't really have a bump at all until 19/20weeks. Baby is fine

PosingPosture20 · 15/07/2024 08:21

The majority of people don't have a visible belly at 10 weeks op.

Tillhatedoesuspart · 15/07/2024 08:22

I had no belly at 10 weeks. It depends on how strong your stomach muscles are I think.

MistyFrequencies · 15/07/2024 08:24

18 weeks I noticed a belly with my first. Maybe about 14 weeks with subsequent babies.

mitogoshi · 15/07/2024 08:26

Had no sign until over 4 months and barely looked pregnant at 7 with either, just a little rotund. By 8 months I did look pregnant but people didn't believe me that I was nearly due

Mindymomo · 15/07/2024 08:30

My friend wore her size 10 jeans all through pregnancy. With me I started a slight bump at around 12 weeks, with my second it was more bigger bump overall much earlier.

Wtfmothernature · 15/07/2024 08:33

I’m size 6 and didn’t start showing until 14 weeks and even at that I looked like I had just ate too much bread lol so don’t be panicking x

FannyPowder · 15/07/2024 08:33

The baby is only 1cm at 10w.

MrsBrightsidde · 15/07/2024 08:34

I started showing at 5 months. I just popped overnight - literally, my husband went away for the night. Before he left my belly was normal, the next day I had a round bump.

My second pregnancy I was showing at 10 weeks, but that was my second pregnancy.

It is way too early for you to be showing now. What you see online might be pregnancy bloating?

Mitsky · 15/07/2024 08:35

I was on stage moderating an event at 20 weeks, there was no way of telling I was pregnant visibly. Mine only started to appear from 21 weeks and now at 25 it’s very obvious!

Danikm151 · 15/07/2024 08:36

It was 22 weeks till I popped. One day no bump and then next day it was there. 1st trimester i was bloated but I didn’t need maternity clothes until around 23 weeks.

baby is currently the size of a jelly bean… if that!

Killerqueenie · 15/07/2024 08:36

First time round my belly didn't pop out until 20 weeks, and I was a size 10-12.

DinoGD · 15/07/2024 08:37

Same here! First baby, didn't have a 'flat' stomach or anything before getting pregnant but I had to stop wearing my jeans from about 9 weeks as it was uncomfortable, but certainly no bump. I've only recently just 'popped' at the 17 week mark. Everyone is very different!

notthefavourite · 15/07/2024 08:45

First baby no belly until about 20 weeks. I remember wearing maternity clothes for no reason 😂 Second was slightly earlier maybe 16/17 weeks. (I was early twenties at the time)
Third baby (in my thirties) obviously pregnant from about ten weeks.

BC2603 · 15/07/2024 09:15

I still barely had a bump at 17 weeks and still at 20 it was very easy to hide. 22ish it started to pop. I’m now 29+4 and there’s definitely a bump 🤣

Piluka · 15/07/2024 09:22

@Kiwi23 this is my first one. See the tummies I've seen are like yours, lovely.

@itistooeasy nope, I am size 10. Not skinny but on the thin side we'll say.

Thanks to everyone for your input and your experiences. It calms me down to know it's normal then. Many many thanks to all of you. Xxx

The baby is miniscule, of course you can't expect to show that early! I bet the pics you've seen are just women who are bloated, i was so bloated in first trimester. it was totally different to having a bump. i've only got a noticable bump since about 26 weeks.

ladycarlotta · 15/07/2024 10:55

baby is about the size of a lego figure. You might be bloated and your uterus is growing, but it's still low in your pelvis and not that big.

I've been 10 weeks pregnant four times and never really showed at that gestation. It's normal. From maybe 15 weeks I start showing a little bump but I'm sure to anyone else it just looks like too many biscuits. I know some people suddenly ping out a bump at 9 weeks, especially if they've been pregnant before, but it doesn't indicate anything re the health of their pregnancy, and tbh I think there's sometimes an element of embracing the bloat that if we weren't pregnant we'd be trying to hide.

I wouldn't worry.

Suzieandthemonkeyfeet · 15/07/2024 10:56

If people have a belly at 10 weeks it’s gas ( bloat)

Superscientist · 15/07/2024 13:30

I had hints of a bump at 16 weeks with my first.
Still early with my second but my friends had bumps earlier with their second

BigCuteBaby567 · 15/07/2024 13:40

Anyone who has a belly at 10 weeks, is just very very bloated. Baby is size of a pea.

Waitingfordoggo · 15/07/2024 13:43

This is completely normal. I’m a size 8-10 and didn’t have a bump till around 20 weeks in my first pregnancy. I did look thicker around the waist though so just looked a bit chubby for a while until the bump appeared. (Bump
showed much earlier in second pregnancy).
