Nightly Evening Sickness

Hi all

I'm currently 14wks2days pregnant.

Every evening around 5/6 I start feeling extremely nauseous & always end up throwing up a lot. I feel absolutely exhausted from it & have felt like this for the past 8 weeks or so.

I've been given anti naseu tablets but I still throw up. Has anyone any similar experience?

Thanks so much for reading 💗 x

Is that the only sickness you get? I had it 24/7 for the whole pregnancy. It's shit but it will get better. Have you found anything that stops the nausea being so bad?

Duffy23 · 13/07/2024 20:48

Not yet unfortunately. Yes it's bizarrely only the evening . Morning I'm fine which is good because I can still work. I have a four year old & I was really sick in the evenings with her too

Aaah well looks like you have the same again. I know it's shit but you know in the end it's worth it ☺️

With pregnancy sickness, the morning is the most common time for it to peak, and the evenings the second most common time. So what you're experiencing is very common and normal.

That being said, as someone who has had HG three times (and still not fully recovered third time around at 25 weeks), I can imagine you're feeling rubbish vomiting every evening for 8 weeks now. Make a GP appt and ask to try a different anti-sickness medicine. I am still on Xonvea which I never got offered in my previous two pregnancies and it's worked amazingly well. This pregnancy I've been the least sick of any of my pregnancies.

I used to find eating a few ginger nut biscuits stopped me from feeling sick.

MoserRothOrangeandAlmond · 14/07/2024 07:52

Every tea time I used to uncontrollably vomit it's used to last a couple of hours it eased off around 17-18 weeks.
Used to feel a little nauseous through the day but I could predict like clockwork the evening.
Nothing really stopped it. I didn't take any medication though so I don't know if that would have help.
I felt lucky that I didn't have it like my mam had it with 24 hours constant nausea, salivating and vomiting.
Hope it eases off soon

So I think that my mams experience hindered me asking for help

I have the same problem, around 5/6 start being nauseous and gagging. And it last for 2-3h and after I have an unsettle stomach. It normally helps me if I nibble some biscuits (I break one and take a bit, when I have the feeling something is wrong I eat another bit and so on) it doesn't stop them but helps with the sensation of unsettled.

I'm 10 weeks in and still not eased. I haven't vomit so far but sometimes the gagging is as bad as. I hope ours eases soon.

I had this, I'm now 29 weeks and would say it eased around week 20 or so? Fingers crossed it does the same for you x
