Lower back pain - 28 weeks

Hi,

I'm nearly 28 weeks pregnant and for the past few weeks now my lower back pain is getting worse. My midwife confirmed last week at my appointment that baby is in an awkward position so I know that won't be helping the back pain.

Can anyone recommend anything to help with the back pain? I do have a pregnancy pillow and find when the pain is really bad a hot water bottle also helps. Did anyone else experience lower back pain when pregnant? Im a first time mam so pretty clueless really

I had this in my first pregnancy with burning rib pain too and sadly i am getting it the second time around too!

Not a lot can be done. Have you gotten a pregnancy massage? I do find this a bit of a relief. Try a chiropractor, your midwife can refer you for physio too (i was referred 10 weeks ago and still heard nothing!) you could buy a pregnancy support belt (i got one from Vinted for £2!) You can take paracetamol and a hot water bottle.

Swimming and yoga have really helped me, and sitting on a yoga ball whilst at my desk. I've also been doing core and glute exercises, to try and not curve spine excessively - look at 'Lauren Fitter' on YouTube she has lots of great pregnancy stretching and strength videos.
