Probable miscarriage?

Hi so I just wanted to see if anyone has experienced anything like this because I can't find anything online. So I had a missed miscarriage about 2 months ago and a couple of weeks ago found out I was pregnant again. I had a beta done and hcg went from 131 to 406 in 48 hours so all seemed well. I should be about 5 weeks 3 days pregnant however yesterday I was sat down eating when I got quite severe cramps for about 20 minutes, when I stood up there was quite a gush of blood however it wasn't a concerning about and definitely not enough to fill a pad. It was fresh blood though and it was enough to go through my swimming costume and shorts. Since then I've had no major cramping and no bleeding other than brown discharge when I wipe which does just seem to be old blood left over. I'm currently on holiday in Spain so can't contact the EPU until I get back on Tuesday. I know the odds aren't in my favour I just hoped someone could give a little more clarity while I wait to confirm what happened or for more cramping or bleeding. Thank you :)

At 5+6 last pregnancy I had a gush of red blood (maybe 2tbsp) then bled red (total maybe 3-4tbsp) -> brown for the next three weeks. It was a subchorionic haematoma, baby was completely fine. There's lots of reasons for bleeding in early pregnancy - in one study 13% of women with bleeding ended up miscarrying, which means 87% didn't!

However, my rule of thumb was that cramps on their own aren't necessarily concerning and nor is bleeding but both together can be a bad sign. Fingers crossed everything is fine when you reach EPU but nobody will be able to tell you until you're scanned.

If BB is there and OK, since you've had a MC before you should ask for progesterone pessaries. Some evidence they can reduce risk of miscarriage in women with prior miscarriage and early pregnancy bleeding. Effect is quite small for one past miscarriage (bigger for 2, very big for 3+) but I'd still say it's worth it.

I don't know what to think. The cramping was quite painful which is what is my biggest concern about it. I will definitely push for progesterone if I didn't miscarry already. Strange thing is that I have no bleeding whatsoever now, not even brown discharge I'm back to totally clear discharge. Thank you, hopefully it will be okay :)

@graceviolet that's a good sign! When I mc'd early naturally, once the bleeding started it never really stopped until I passed the sac.

I have my fingers crossed for you.
