TTC at 43 - anyone else

I fear perimenopause is creeping up! I have a beautiful DC aged 9 from IVF and unfortunately had two losses in 2022 aged 41. I've struggled to accept the losses, each pregnancy was a natural surprise so not planned either time. We were a happy threesome, but overjoyed at the prospect of growing.

I'm all consumed with the pros and cons of TTC at my age. We have 2 frozen embryos from my 30s which I guess would in theory be healthier than my eggs in my 40s. But also my health and how if anything went wrong what the impact would be on the rest of the family. Also can't stop thinking about being 60 with a 16 year old 😂

Anyone else out there, trying, been there done that, got the 16 year old 😂 love to hear from you thanks !

Hi, I'm 43 next month, and currently 21 weeks pregnant. Was a complete shock didn't find out till I was 17 weeks ! Was also on the pill. I already have a nearly 18 year old daughter and a 13 year old son. My 20 week scan was all good, no concerns from midwife. I'm generally really healthy though, never ill, never smoked don't drink, BMI 20 low blood pressure. So id say if your generally healthy you should be fine.

I had twins at 43, they were IVF and it was my first pregnancy. Pregnancy wasn’t that easy but l think that’s due to the twins bit. I vote bust your embryos out.

I’m also in the same boat. 42 years old with a 4 year old. Thought I was happy with just my darling boy but now wishing I was younger and could have a second. Trying to convince my husband that it could be magical to have a second but he’s not sure.

obviously worried about a healthy pregnancy, being an older parent and how hard it all is. Scared I’m going to regret it if we don’t try. It might not work but at least I’ve tried??

sorry that was not useful for you at all @Alwayssomething14 !!

Only my experience but I'm turning 36 and currently pregnant with my second and finding it absolutely exhausting. Deffo not a strong enough person to manage pregnancy after 40 but respect to anyone who can!

Had my third at 44, conceived naturally. Was all fine. Good luck!
