Hernia in pregnancy

Hi

Has anyone had a hernia in pregnancy?

Ive been in pain since 8 weeks pregnant (now 28 weeks) every day in discomfort/agony with stomach churning and indigestion

Tried medication (not worked) checked for stomach bacteria (all clear) even checked for gallstones (all fine)

Anyone share if they have felt similar? I'm just praying it disappears when baby arrives as it's just so debilitating

Hi yes, I had an umbilical hernia. I went to the GP who diagnosed it when I was about 30 weeks pregnant.
I had surgery to repair it about 8 months after giving birth.

From what I could tell, GPs can tell fairly easily if it's a hernia, so it's a quick thing to get checked out

I didn't really feel the stomach churning, but it was 14 years ago so it's hard to remember exactly.

Do you mean surgical hernia or a hiatus hernia ??

@excitedmama2be hiatus hernia, the dr briefly mentioned it could be this but I have no lumps or bumps it was just based on my symptoms

As I've had a few other things checked I'm at a loss at what else it could be - but it's really unbearable

Not sure why you would expect lumps and bumps from a hiatus hernia , you get them from a surgical one though

hiatus hernia just means the muscles around the valve leading from oesoahgis to stomach is lax so it allows the acid up and down
