23 +4 open cervix?

Sorry if it's TMI
I'm 23+4
I have always been able to feel my cervix (it sits quite low)
This morning I got a shock because it feels quite open and spongy etc but surely it should be closed and firm?
Its like one finger tip open.

Is this something to worry about? No other symptoms
I'd really rather not get prodded and poked if it can be normal

It should be closed. Definitely go to get checked out, and stop prodding around in the meantime

I agree with the stopping the self examination but wanted to say that I think if it's your second your cervix never 100% closes as much as it would have been the first time, at least that's what I was told x

@Tryingtoconceivenumber2
Thank you
Its my first... But my cervix is quite often open anyways, I've never noticed a pattern in my cycles, it just seems random. But quite often it's spongy and open. But it has been fully closed before too.

Go straight to hospital. You might need an emergency cervical stitch. Better to be safe than sorry.

Something similar happened to me (picked up when I went for a scan at 22w5d). The stitch bought me 2 weeks before I had my daughter. Had they caught it sooner she may not have been so early.

It’s not normal for a first baby OP. Please go and get checked and don’t poke around

I'd be calling for help / advice - may need a stitch if that's actually what's happened
