Slight Bleeding- Please Please Help

I have had implantation bleeding since Sunday- light brown thick discharge. I got my BFP yesterday.

Ive just been to the loo and wiped, and there was bright pink blood. Not a long, but enough to stain a tissue when I wiped.

Just checked my knickers and there is a pink stain about the size of a 20p piece.

Im scared stiffless. What would you all recommend? Im only 4+3 so far too early for anything to show on a scan.

I had similar to this chinchi and now have 6 month old Dd, so don't worry, all can turn out fine. I would suggest ringing your hospital and seeing if their EPU is open. I had a scan at around 5 weeks, you'd be amazed what they can see. Hope all is well

sorry to hear this.

Go to your gp and see what they advise. They could do blood tests to test hormone levels (will need a couple of see how they are rising).

Otherwise, I guess all you can do at the moment is retake a pregnancy test ?

Thanks very much

Should I call NHS Direct? If I go to my GP in the morning the blood they take will be sent off and its the weekend after tomorrow.

Trying not to panic. DH at work. Blardy hell, what do I do first?

Hmm. I've had two healthy girls and had spotting with both of them from about 4 weeks.

I'm now 11 weeks after missed miscarriage and have had spotting on and off since about 8 weeks, but transabdominal scan at 9 weeks showed healthy foetus.

See your GP and go from there.

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 10/04/2008 18:58

Ok honesty time - you have a 50% chance of this bleeding being a miscarriage, and 50% chance of it being fine. This early 1 in 4 pgs end in miscarriage. It could be, but there is no reason to panic. Be prepared for the worst but don't assume. Take another PT in a few days and make an appt with the gp for blood tests.

xxxxxxx

Call NHS direct (who will let you know if you're best to ring hospital or wait for GP - actually they'll probably suggest the latter), call Dh, make a cup of strong sweet tea, take care

chinchi · 10/04/2008 19:04

Thankyou all so much

Will call them now

also had bleeding with my first DD from about 5-6 week mark...came and went then came again...had scan at 6weeks + 5 and all was well.

sit tight, take it easy and call GP...they'll probably check hormone levels are doubling and when you're a bit further on, book a scan to check sac etc...

try and stay positive as the odds are on your side. x

Just spoken to NHS Direct- on call doctor is calling back within half an hour.

Its not so much the bleeding but the cramping on one side theyre worried about

Fingers crossed x

You've got people looking into it now so that is good. They'll be worried about ectopic pregnancy but if it helps, I had cramping on one side a fair bit with Dd2 and all was ok there. Thinking of you

MrsMacaroon · 11/04/2008 09:54

good luck chinchi

chinchi · 11/04/2008 11:12

Ive just got home from EPU. Unfortunately Im too early on for the scan to show anything, although the bit that should be (she used a fancy word!) is nice and thick which is a good sign.

The took a swab to test for infection, and bloods to test hormone levels. Need to go give more bloods on Sunday, then get the results on Monday.

I felt so awful when the sonographer said 'looking at this scan, we cant acutally confirm whether you are pregnant or not'. I almost felt like a fraud! But the line is still there on my pregnancy test, so I know full well its a positive!

Oh well, just taking it easy, although with DS, I dont know how easy that will be!

Feeling quite hopeful all is ok

I agree with kat2907. I had 2 pregnancies which ended in miscarriage at 8 weeks (the first with considerable bleeding over 24 hours and severe cramping). My third pregnancy was a threatened miscarriage at 5 weeks but didn't know I was carrying a baby until the 8 week ultrasound. My DD is now almost 2 and is extremely healthy. My fourth pregnancy has just recently been confirmed after what I thought was a miscarriage at 5 weeks also. I had bleeding for six hours, cramps, nausea and raised temparature. I am now 14 weeks pregnant and baby is very much alive with strong heartbeat
