Mat B1 lost

Hi all,

I've misplaced my Mat B1. GP and community midwives being really unhelpful about it and won't give me another one before my next appointment.

Any advice on how to get a replacement?

What's the latest I can give to my employer to not effect maternity leave?

Hello,

Sorry you are anxious! You must inform employers of your pregnancy at least 15 weeks before your baby is due (25 weeks pregnant).

I don't think you need the formal MatB1 to do this though.

Is it on your NHS record on the app?

Hey, I wouldn't worry, I'm assuming you have already informed your employer that you are pregnant? As long as you get a copy at your next appointment and provide it to your employer they will be absolutely fine. Providing it 15 weeks before the birth isn't a deadline for the MATB1 it's just usually when you would need to tell them.

Your employer won't give a flying fig until you start your Mat Leave. They need it to claim the SMP, nothing else.

When your midwife gives you the duplicate photograph it so you have a record.

Good luck with yiur pregnancy.
