Hi all!

I was wondering whether you guys kept using the same hair/face/body products from the moment you knew you were expecting?

or did you start buying organic shampoos, face moisturizers etc…

i downloaded an app called INCI Beauty that tells me the rating of product components and I want to cry! I’d need to throw away nearly all my stuff 😭

my shampoo has a terrible rating, my liquid foundation is even rated 0/20 😔😔 let alone my spf also rated 2/20 😭

any specific brands or websites you recommend to buy pregnancy-safe products?
or did you carry on using your regular products?

Im mostly using my regular products, except those that either specifically state they are not suitable for pregnancy (some lovely bath oils that contain various essential oils that can cause issues), and anything containing retinol, bha, or aha. Certainly not replacing everything with organic products - anyway organic doesnt always mean safe for pregnancy!

I’ve been using clean beauty & makeup products for several years during ttc/IVF already. But yes, I’d do what you can to limit the endocrine disrupters at least.

Using all the same, hadn’t even crossed my mind not. It’s virtually impossible for any skin or hair to get through the placenta. Give yourself a break and delete that app! Nothing can be proven as pregnancy safe or unsafe, it’s impossible to do those tests.
