Unlikely

JimNast · 27/06/2024 22:57

It's probably trapped wind. A good fart will probably fix it.

Sbx · 27/06/2024 23:01

Do you reckon? I’m thinking maybe my ultra sound suggested im earlier then I am because this happened before

It's highly, highly unlikely to get the gestational measurements so wrong if you think you're 20+ weeks and the scan is showing a healthy baby at 13 weeks.

I'd bet money on you seeing the baby kicking. Potentially feeling slight movement but your baby is about 4 inches long and your uterus is barely out of your pelvis. Even if you are very very thin, there is a lot of padding and a 2 ounce baby has very little strength.

I’m not thinking I’m 20 weeks but maybe a few weeks further than 14, i don’t know maybe I’m just over excited for this baby!

And on my last scan crown to rump was 71.3mm which I googled is apparently 7 cm so maybe I’m not sure

Nonsense, not so early in pregnancy!!!

Sbx · 27/06/2024 23:34

Hi thanks for being so unpleasant and rude, I’m a first time mum and just excited and wanted peoples opinions thanks though

7cm is 3 inches op. The babies foot will be a few millimetres at most. It’s most likely trapped wind but hopefully you’ll start to feel
movement in a few weeks. You likely won’t see it until much later. Also be warned if you have an anterior placenta you may never see it.

PurpleyDog · 27/06/2024 23:47

I know it’s exciting to have the first kicks and to see your belly move, but at that number of weeks the baby is way too small to make your belly move that much.

PiggieWig · 27/06/2024 23:48

I felt flutters at 15 weeks but nothing you could see. It seems a bit early for that.

JamMakingWannaBe · 27/06/2024 23:54

Congratulations on your pregnancy. OP, for some perspective my Playmobil character is around 7cm. His feet are around 1.5cm - and your baby is not wearing work boots! As PP, with all the amniotic fluid etc in your womb, it is highly unlikely that you will be able to feel baby kick at this stage in your pregnancy.

I felt my first flutters and tumbles in week 15-16 (even my doc was surprised!). So you never know, especially with a posterior placenta :) feeling my little one kick got me through all the tough times so enjoy if you're feeling them!

toomanytonotice · 28/06/2024 03:42

I’m going to disagree as I definitely felt movement very early on.

at my 12 week scan, which was about 13 or 14 weeks, I saw the baby kick as I felt the movement sensation, so I have little doubt.

ImustLearn2Cook · 28/06/2024 03:56

@Sbx Congratulations on your first pregnancy. It is exciting. 🌟🍼🧁💖🥳

Don’t take anything on Mumsnet personally. It’s a forum that has all kinds of people posting on it.

Hey OP. Not sure why there’s so many rude comments. Anyway slot of women who are small feel kicks and flutters around 18 weeks but it’s not impossible to feel them from 14 weeks. The professionals told me that, not a bunch of women on Mumsnet who think they are midwives.
Trapped wind wouldn’t cause that bump I can see sticking out of you 🤣
Only you know what you’re feeling. Congratulations and good luck with your pregnancy xx

skkyelark · 28/06/2024 11:19

I started feeling little flickers of movement around 16 weeks with my first and 15 weeks with my second, and my husband could feel them if he rested his hand on my belly at around 19 weeks, but you couldn't see them from the outside for quite awhile yet.

lola8319 · 29/06/2024 19:33

Congrats OP! I´m 14 weeks today too, FTM.
If you know your body well, and know how to differentiate trapped wind and random muscle twitchs in your belly, you definitely will feel some new sensation down there early. Baby is too small to being noticed from outside, but is your body and only you can feel what´s happening there. Enjoy every new thing you feel!

Flopsy145 · 29/06/2024 19:37

My stomach did this around 15/16 weeks, I did a lot of research and put it down to muscle spasms as your uterus is stretching
