Hello gals - please help!

I am only 5 weeks in but I am soooo bloated I spend pretty much whole evening / night time letting out gas like a bloated whale. I cannot even stay in our master bedroom because I don’t want my fiancé to smell the god awful rotten egg 😫…(I am in the spare bedroom last few nights , not ideal !)

I am super uncomfortable at work as well!

Are there any remedies to make this feel better ? Anything I can take to debloat, that’s pregnancy safe ?

Sorry I shouldn't laugh but "letting out gas like a bloated whale" made me chuckle!

The bloating does get better as you get further along. You could try peppermint tea that's meant to help with the wind and bloating

You can take Rennie deflatine but my advice is to keep moving! Move lots, walk lots, make sure you’re drinking lots of water and it does get better. Try and keep yourself regular with number 2s as well, avoid beige carbs if you possibly can but I pretty much lived off oven curly fries and white bread with my first in the first trimester as it was the only thing which didn’t make me feel sick.

I don’t know if you have access to a dog but a good pre-bedtime march around 9pm is a good opportunity to degas without gassing anyone out Grin

Also just to make you feel better DH describes my pregnancy farts as “eye peelers” and has dramatically fallen to the floor on several occasions and commando crawled out of the room in protest at the appalling stench. I promise I do not usually produce such noxious fumes, it’s just the first 12 weeks of pregnancy

MissLucyLiu · 26/06/2024 22:05

@Flangeosaurus it’s so toxic. I am making myself sick 🤢 and I am the one producing the smell lol

Two things to try:

Deflatine/windeze tablets
Gripe water (yes it's for babies but it's amazing 😂)

MissLucyLiu · 26/06/2024 22:07

@Flangeosaurus even my dog (who usually follow me around) started sleeping any room I am not in lol 😂

I think it's ok - sure I took it in pregnancy- but as always: check the packet 😂
