Is it normal to be able to feel baby lumps through skin?

I’m 27 weeks and having a little panic I just need some reassurance haha..

I can recently start to see / feel the baby’s position through my skin where if I press gently I can feel like little lumpy bits that I imagine are his arms and legs and sometimes he moves them as I’m feeling them.

Im worrying if this is normal or if he doesn’t have enough water around him or something.

also can you hurt baby through pressing like this??

Very normal. That’s how midwives tell what position the baby is in.

Completely normal. Nothing to worry about.

Very normal, I particularly remember seeing a student midwife for one of my routine appointments who wasn't sure how to measure my bump because there was a big lump right on the middle of it caused by a foot or something sticking out 😆

Oh and no you can't hurt the baby by pressing, I always have a bit of a press of they've got their foot under my rib to try and get them to move, sometimes works, sometimes doesn't.

Yep, by the time I was able 35/36 weeks we could very visibly see the shape of DDs foot sticking out of my stomach every time the little darling booted me. I'd lay on the sofa watching her foot pop out, it was like something from a sci-fi/horror film.

My youngest kicked so hard at the cinema once that she knocked my popcorn on the floor! Bloody hurt too!
