Anyone been to the Baby Show?

The Scottish one is in a couple of weeks time and I am thinking of going. Is it actually worth a look? I am not intending on buying much but if I can get a better "show" deal then there are things that we still need but if the show is not worth it then I can easily get the stuff we need from mothercare etc online.

The only thing I'd really like to see there is the firm that does little cast things of baby's feet and hands at newborn stage.

i've been to 2 and they were a bit crap, unfortunately - i found there weren't really enough good offers on things. not any cheaper than the shops or the internet. also there wasn't anything unusual to buy.

i also would have liked some freebies, but then i'm greedy

I went once to the Birmingham one and I found the same as Pinta I was expecting good deal on new prams or baby equipment but really there was just lots of non essential stuff there that was quite expensive

I went to the Glasgow one last year - was my due date - was hoping to go into labour but no such luck. To be honest it wasnt great - there are lots of stalls selling lots of cute things, and lots of stalls selling the same stuff as the previous one. Dont think we bought anything, but to be fair I think we had everything covered by then...

You can get quite a few freebies - bounty packs and the like, we are still using up the free teeny pots of sudacrem and ds is nearly 1.

Overall its probably worth a look - especially if you go on the friday, if you are a memeber of the boots parent and baby club I think you get tickets half price. It gets very busy though - at 9+ months pregnant last year I think I just barged everyone out of the way!!

we went last year to the glasgow one and got loads of freebies. i did enjoy it but we went on the friday and got there at 10am. there were some bargains to be had - mothercare had 10% off all stuff at the show for example.

I went to Earls Court 3 years ago when i was pg and it was fab. I bought a lovely embroidered blanket and came home with 9 bags of freebies

We went to the one in London in 2006 and it was great for thrashing through all the products (namely buggies, cots, car seats etc and deciding which model that we wanted. It was great to have it all in one place, have a very big play with everything, go home, decide and then order it on-line / borrow it.

There was no benefit cost wise from going and no freebies really. It just helped with the decisions!

I was thinking of going as I forgot about the Glasgow one last year, lol. Tom is 2 on saturday though, so probably not worth it now.

Thank you! It is still a day out and if we get bored we can always head into Glasgow. Didn't think about freebies just the chance to may be get something different!
