IME quite normal for it come and go until well over 20 weeks.

Yes, I only had little flutters which were more like trapped wind until he got a bit more feisty at about 23-24 weeks!

Have you tried a really cold drink or a sugar hit to wake it up?

doggiesayswoof · 09/04/2008 14:45

With my first I wasn't getting movement every day til about 22 weeks. I would not worry but agree with Puhpeng - have some juice and a biscuit and sit with your feet up for a while. That always tends to get some movement for me.

Baby is so little at 17/18 weeks, that yes, it is possible that given the right circumstances, baby being in exactly the right posision and moving at exactly the right time, you will feel it.

But if he/she moves further backwards, you won't feel anything at all - there's just too much of 'you' to get through.

I am sure that there is absolutely nothing to worry about.

Ok thanks! I just had some cake so that might wake it up but I'll stop worrying!

Hooray!

i worried about this with DD - as soon as i felt definite movements, i expected them to be really regular, but they weren't. around that stage i would sometimes go days between feeling anything

don't worry too much - it will soon get stronger and more regular
