Prednisone- did anyone come off at 7 weeks?

Hi all,

Wondered if anyone was on prednisone and was told to come off it at 7 weeks pregnant? I feel nervous about coming off it!

It seems too early to stop but it depends on why you got it prescribed, most doctors don't feel comfortable prescribing it past 12 weeks into a pregnancy.

I was on pred for Crohn's disease but thankfully not whilst pregnant. Who told you to come off it, the doctor or midwife? You have been given that advice for a reason, it is strong stuff. Hope they gave you a plan to taper off it, don't stop suddenly.

Thanks for your replies. My IVF dr prescribed it to me in my latest (successful) IVF protocol because I had 3 previous failed transfers. I believe it's the 'kitchen sink' approach.

He has advised me to come off it at 7 weeks. I'm only nervous because it's the first time I've had success implanting and I don't want to jeopardise my growing embryo! However, we don't know know if I 'needed' it or whether it was just chance!
