Cyclizine dosage

I was in hospital for hyperemesis and was prescribed cyclizine to take 3 times a day. Nowhere in the hospital, on the box or in the leaflet did it say to space it 8 hours. After 6 days of taking it at breakfast, lunch and dinner I felt extremely drowsy and couldn't stay awake.

I checked the nhs website and found it is meant to be taken every 8 hours. I rang the hospital and spoke to the doctor who said we won't know the impact yet but that it probably won't have harmed the baby. Has anyone else made this mistake and it turned out fine?
