Outrageous weight gain at 7 weeks...

I'm 7 weeks pregnant (with first), and despite being so careful with what I eat, this morning couldn't do up a pair of work trousers.

Is this a sign that will be the size of a house? Has anyone else ballooned so early, and did it even out later on? Or am I actually, as I suspect, an outrageous porker?

it's probably water retention!

Oh fabulous - does this ease off? Thanks, kat2907

Tis my second pregnancy and I was I pregnancy trousers at 8 weeks or so. I have watched what I eat carefully and so far have only put on 10kg (I will be 30 weeks on Friday). You are not a porker. People put on weight at a different rate. Doesn't mean you will be the size of a house towards the end either. Is it your first?

Fufulina · 09/04/2008 10:57

Thanks, needahand, it is my first.

No not really! Your gut gets all messed up from pretty much the beginning of preg, drink plenty of water but you will still get sluggish, windy and constipated, as well as bloated
Nice!

The glamour.

I put no weight on up until about 15 weeks (with this N.2) but was in elastic waistband or maternity stuff from 8-10 weeks because of all the bloating and organ shifting in the tummy.

Worry not, but don't see this as a license to pig out now!

Congratulations and keep well!

I'm 9 weeks pregnant with my first, and am already in maternity jeans. I feel fat too! I guess everyone's different. I'm too hungry and nauseous all the time to worry about trying not to put on weight. I figure this is the time to embrace the curves!

Oh, and my boobs are HUGE.... does anyone else feel like they're going through puberty again?

Fufulina · 09/04/2008 15:36

Boobs also enormous! Can't even do up my coats any more.

I suppose I should just enjoy the curves... Thanks very much everyone..

Me too - though now the nausea has really kicked in weight gain has levelled off. I think it's as if you've just eaten a really big meal and your waistband is tight, because it just stays that way all the time - the womb isn't about to go anywhere.

It's horrible, though, being too small for maternity gear and needing new clothes a size up, just for a few weeks. :/

I had a huge belly at 9 weeks!
Most of that was water though i think. Everyone was commenting on how big i was and questioning twins!
Thankfully only the one baby and now at 27 weeks the only comments i get are about how small and tiny i am!
