What exercise can I start safely in early pregnancy?

I've not been exercising regularly in the last 12 months - I've really noticed my aerobic fitness has dropped. I had a plan to start again but I found out I was pregnant. I'm now 7 weeks.

I used to do lots of cycling, spin, running (weekly park runs and some longer races) and body balance in the past. I've also done Pilates, yoga, body pump, step, aerobics on and off.

I'm just trying to figure out what is safe to ease back into during these early weeks. I don't love swimming but I know that's probably the most sensible option. I'll probably start some walks-light jogs and try to build up to 5k. (I run around after my first born anyway.) I would love to get back into spin (I kept it up during my first pregnancy), body balance, Pilates and body pump, albeit taking it very easy and obviously letting the teacher know. And I'll start looking into pregnancy yoga and exercise classes too for the second trimester.

Any tips? Anything I should avoid?

I’d be a bit careful as NHS advice is to only continue what you did before. Swimming is good, and fast walking especially up hills ! Joe Wicks has some pregnant safe workouts on YouTube.

Pregnancy pilates and pregnancy yoga are a safe bet :) and walks, swimming, and cycling (but start with something easy for 20-30 mins, don't go mountainbiking!). Edit: I couldn't move for the entire first 4 months of both my pregnancies, so if you succeed, then I am impressed!
