Hi ladies,
One very anxious mummy over here!! 16 weeks today and I swear my bump has come out of nowhere the past week - I feel huge!!

anyway, for the past 3 or so days, I’ve felt like there might be a UTI brewing (struggling to wee especially first thing in the morning, clitoris/urethra feeling a bit sore and sensitive) but what’s worrying me is I have little firework type pains constantly on and off in my lower abdomen.

I’ve been tested for a UTI and my urine was ‘borderline’ as some white blood cells showed up but not any red blood cells so they’ve held off giving me antibiotics.

my questions are;

is it normal to have a belly growth spurt at this time 😂 can it cause UTI type symptoms and has anyone else experienced these little firework type cramps and all ok?

Just to add to the mix I’m being monitored for a short cervix (30mm at 16 week scan) but have had loop excision so have another scan in 3 weeks and worried the pains are coming from around my cervix?!

thank you x x

To your first question you'll find there's no real normal and everyone goes through distinct experiences. It soundsn like it's normal for you and not a major concern.

Your clinician will have hopefully briefed on preventative measures to avoid UTI.

There'll be more bodily changes over coming months, meaning more odd aches and pain. Just process of accommodating a growing bean.
