stressed as anything. Missed period by about 8 days so took a cheap test - negative. Symptoms got stronger so took clear blue 12 days after missed period - positive. Took a further 4 test cheap and how many weeks clear blue all positive and 1-2 weeks. Before scan did another how many weeks again positive 1-2. According to last period I’d be 6 weeks and 2 days BUT last cycle length was 40 days I always have irregular cycle lengths and periods so may be later than I think. Booked early scan today - came back as pregnancy in unknown location, I came home and did another cheap test in evening positive again. Sonography said I should take a test tomorrow and if positive call hospital and ask for blood test. I am worried sick. Could I just be less weeks than I think and not show on scan yet?

@Adamsapple89 my boob soreness has been through the roof today and intensifying as the days go on also just feel tired and achy and I'd say discomfort not pain at lower abdomen sort of like before a period pain - defo not at a stage I'd need a painkiller so I'm not stressed about that..I've had that for about 4 days now anyway! Fingers crossed🫶🏼

@amispeakingintongues I totally agree. Honestly this was extremely of the cards for another 5 years atleast so I thought if anything of the worse happened I wouldn't of been bothered so thought If the scan came back of any concern I'd be chill but seems other wise and now the thought is only head I extremely want this baby🤞🏽

Get a blood test. That will tell you usually if you should be able to see anything on a scan. If the hCG level is above 4000 IU/L then a gestational sack should be visible. Until your levels reach at least 4000 it's not worth having a scan as there might be nothing to see and it be a perfectly normal pregnancy.

At four weeks hCG is not likely to be at that level.

Also say you get a result of 4000 IU/L, that means that now your hCG is at this level you should be able to see a gestational sack on a scan now, not that you should have seen one before. HCG rises rapidly in early pregnancy.

It doesn't mean you'll see anything else, but it won't be pregnancy or unknown location.

@GardenGnomeDefender I had a blood test last night..my hcg was 96 which is apparently normal for someone who's just hit 4 weeks..I'm going again tomorrow to see if it's increased. I'm all new to this and gynaecologist who see me yesterday also thinks im 4 weeks not 6 so wouldn't worry about the scan..I don't think I have anything to worry about😌

@Adamsapple89

First hcg test was 96
46 hours later retested and is now at 244
Arm pains passed since being more conscious at work today of how I'm sitting and the pressure I'm applying. No symptoms of anything being wrong Back again on Wednesday for bloods again 🤞🏽

@Ellsx6 thats really good news. It’s a shame you had the early scan because it’s started things off with worry and stress but now you can try and relax. NHS has most answers you need as well as to what’s normal

This is the issue with earlier tests and private scans.

Ellsx6 · 27/06/2024 08:34

Hey all thought I'd do a little update.
Sat 22nd hcg - 96
Mon 24th hcg - 244
Wed 26th hcg - 630
Progesterone levels all at the right place for these number too said doctor.
No bleeding or spotting or bad pain (i never have either) I just feel twinges and niggling pains, on and off feeling sick and sore boobs
These test are 1 week apart!😌🤞🏽
Doctor is very happy and thinks there's nothing to worry about!

Congratulations, thanks for sharing this. I've just been lurking and crossing fingers for you.
Do chat to your midwife if you find yourself getting anxious about other things, but hopefully it will all be smooth sailing from here! All the best to you and bump Smile

Ellsx6 · 28/06/2024 03:25

@RamaSita I have my midwife appt in 1.5 weeks! As my periods are irregular they're just going from last period and will change dates after 12 week scan she said. I think I'll only be 6 weeks by then but hey I feel very positive and happy! If they do bloods at the midwife appt and can tell me hcg I may then book an early scan again just to triple check that it's in the right place ect although I'm certain by that point if it wasn't I'd know about it!

Thanks so much for the lovely words, I really appreciate it🥹

First midwife appointment! Are hcg levels tested in the blood on the first appointment? Google answers vary..thanks😌

@Ellsx6 no they’re not tested it’s just generic questions about yours, partners and family medical history

greendu · 28/06/2024 12:47

Are you in the UK?

@Ellsx6
You've confirmed pregnancy and that's enough info to go on now. I do know it can be challenging to have confidence in something we can't see but try to assume the best rather than the worst!
Sure, it's early days, but you are pregnant! Whatever happens you're allowed to be happy and positive at this point so I'm glad^ you say you d^o feel that way.

Ellsx6 · 11/07/2024 19:12

Just wanted to update incase anyone's in a similar situation and needs some hope..2 weeks after my PUL scan I went private again as I wasn't entitled to nhs scan due to rising hcg. Scan shows gestational sac and yolk sac but no embryo and measured 5w5d

Had a follow up scan at epu 6 days later and baby had a strong heartbeat flickering away😆no concerns from anyone and they have no doubt that this isn't a viable progressing pregnancy! I've attached both of my scans if you'd like to compare to yours!

Thankyou to everyone who left me a positive comment on here we are over the moon!💕
