I’m almost 7 weeks and have been quite congested during this last week. I don’t actually have a runny or blocked nose but my nose just feels stuffy. I have read this can happen during pregnancy. Anyone else experienced anything similar? if so when did it let up? drives me crazy at night time, help!

I’m only about 5 weeks pregnant and was wondering if this was a symptom! I’m exactly the same, just feels stuffy! Sorry can’t help with when it will let up!

Also 5 weeks and also keep getting blocked nose through out the night, never thought it could be pregnancy related.

OopsieeDaisy · 21/06/2024 07:17

You could try a saline spray such as Sterimar to try and relieve it!

Duckinglunacy · 21/06/2024 07:25

i ended up with steroid nasal sprays through both pregnancies. Stuffy nose was unbearable! That was a decade ago now so no idea if it is current practice but it really helped.

Sorry guys I'm 26 weeks today and still have a stuffy nose... Some days worse than others but it's been noticeable the whole pregnancy. I'm just blowing my nose a lot and living with it so I don't have any wise advice but I certainly empathise!

Greenerygarden · 21/06/2024 08:51

Sorry to deliver the bad news but I’m almost 41 weeks and still have a stuffy nose. Took me a couple of weeks to realise it was a pregnancy symptom, you mostly get used to it but I’m hoping it clears once the baby is here

elb1504 · 21/06/2024 09:14

I have this too and had it all through my last pregnancy! I do use the sterimar sprays and find they do offer some help!

cherrybl0ssom5 · 21/06/2024 16:03

thank you everyone 😭 i’ve been taking an antihistamine before bed when it’s unbearable, which helps a bit + a dab of vapour rub at the base of my nose. will have to look into the spray

7 weeks today and stuffy nose is doing my nut in😫😫

mackchar · 13/07/2024 22:07

I had this too through both my pregnancies! Nasal strips were a fantastic (albeit unattractive) lifesaver at night. Think the brand is called Breathe Right.

cherrybl0ssom5 · 14/07/2024 01:20

so update - the stuffy nose went away maybe a week or so later😂 i’m 10 weeks now and I have it here and there but nothing like before, maybe it was hayfever for me?

I'm 29 weeks...had a stuffy nose since week 5 🤣🤦🏽‍♀️

Violetlightning · 14/07/2024 07:46

My stuffy nose went the day my waters broke. Currently 7 weeks too with my second and the stuffy nose has already returned! I used saline water nasal sprays.

Peonies12 · 14/07/2024 07:49

I’m 29 weeeks and had stuffy nose throughout! The saline sprays that are drug free help a bit

Gerani · 14/07/2024 12:18

I've had this alot throughout my 2nd pregnancy & it's so annoying 😑 it comes and goes all the time - i never had it all during my 1st... its affecting my ears aswell as they keep blocking & I can't hear properly when talking to people in work etc... the Saline Sterimar spray is supposed to be good, also I find a steamy bath/shower has helped (as long as u are careful with not over heating in the water) hope this helps you !!

MixedCouple2 · 14/07/2024 16:17

Yes. No cure for me. Once I lay down for bed I end up atryggping to breath through my nose. From weeks 5 and now 39 weeks still an issue. I snore I mouth breath I hate it. O tried cool mist, nasal irrigation etc nothing works.

Melusina123 · 14/07/2024 19:06

I had it last pregnancy and it got worse and worse until I gave birth then vanished. Maybe not the news you wanted! 😂 It was genuinely my least favourite pregnancy symptom, though, it just drove me crazy and made it really hard to sleep.
