Hi, I’m currently 30 weeks pregnant and I’m experiencing really painful cramped hands, worse in the mornings and I struggle to make a fist. They feel really hot and irritated. Is this just fluid buildup? Anyone got any advice
thanks ❤️

Carpal tunnel syndrome is common in pregnancy, how is your blood pressure and do you have swollen ankles?

do you sleep with your hands at an angle to your arm so your wrist is bent so to speak? If there is a chance that you do, that will be exacerbating it. You could try some wrist splints at night, the ones that keep your hands straight in line with your arms

Hi, thanks for the reply, I try my best not sleep on my hands but it doesn’t matter which way I sleep they still getting quite painful. My blood pressure has always been normal so far. My ankles to get swollen at the end of the day. It’s just getting me down now because there’s no relief from it..

Hi
I had exactly the same thing, sometimes I’d wake up and my fingers would be like stuck down, it was so painful. I know you have a way to go but as soon as I gave birth it went away. I actually remember the relief waking up the next day after labour and being like ahhhhhh my hands are back!

@FTMaz hi thank you for this reply. It does bring me some comfort. When you’re in the middle of it, you just feel like these things will never go away! I can’t believe how many strange things occur when you’re pregnant!
