Hello,

im 15 weeks currently and due to previous miscarriages have been on cylogest. My midwife is stopping them at 16 weeks and I’m petrified!

Im just looking to hear from you about your experience of coming off them (or staying on them!) and reassurance really that it won’t cause a miscarriage?

I also have a shorter cervix due to a previous lletz and thought progesterone was good for that?

thanks x

I did the same, it was totally fine and baby is healthy. You are well past the point where the placenta takes over. Congratulations it's such a hard journey after losses xx

@Catlady12335678 I was on progesterone until 12 weeks in both my IVF pregnancies. No issue at all coming off it.

I've also got a short cervix - you'll likely be offered cervical length measurements up until 24 weeks. If there is any sign your cervix is getting shorter / opening etc then they could always put you back on progesterone if needed. For some reassurance, I didn't need any intervention for short cervix during my first pregnancy, when I went into natural labour slightly post-term. My current pregnancy there has been some concern over cervix shortening a bit, but now at 24 weeks and consultant is happy for my to continue pregnancy without any intervention at the current time.
