2cm dilated 38+4! Advice please!

Had a sweep an hour ago to see what happens. Was getting contractions last night for hours all stopped now but my back is aching.
She said I'm 2cm and nice and stretched 🤮 has anyone had a sweep before and gone into labour from it already being 2cm?
This is baby number 5. Never gone into labour on my own always been induced so I'm really excited, this time. And hoping for a nice water birth and G&A!
She prepared me I could be back at 41 weeks still pregnant but hopefully it'll happen asap.
What usually happens after a sweep? Body wise? How long will I stay at 2cm?

I was 2-3cm at least 2 weeks before I went into spontaneous labour. 2x s&s did nothing but it was baby no1. Good luck!

I think I was 2cm with baby no 2 when I had my sweep, I gave birth 8 hours later

I had 3 sweeps with number 3 and was 3cm and I’m afraid it still did nothing! Sometimes they work for people and other times they don’t. Baby will make the decision 😬 good luck!

So mixed reviews. I was just googling and some woman had 7 and still nothing happened!

With my 2nd I arrived at the hospital and was 2 cm dilated at the time the midwife did a sweep and was about to send me home has I got off the bed my waters broke and the midwife examined me again and I was 10cm and ready to push.

Okay losing my plug now and have a lot of pressure in my bum. Some period type cramping is happening too. Really hope this is it!

Fingers crossed for you! I was 2cm for a couple weeks with my first, finally went into labour day of my induction 🤣

With my 2nd sweep in the morning at 37+5 , lost plug later that day and full blown labour by the evening. Went to hospital about midnight and was 7cm already!

I feel like I'm just being very wishful and positive. Knowing my luck I'll be updating the thread at 41 weeks still huge and pregnant 😂.

Hey 👋 sorry to disappoint but i had baby number 5, 5 months ago and had 6 sweeps from 38 weeks, was told i was 3cm dilated still went 9 days overdue my waters even broke and she still didn’t want to come, was induced the next day lol xx

I had a sweep and was 2cm with DD. 10 days later I was induced. Sorry, I know that's not what you want to hear! Sending lots of labour vibes your way

Keep moving. A walk. Bounce on a birthing ball

I will go for a walk tomorrow. The lightning crotch is so painful atm. When I am upright it feels like she is going to fall out getting painful now. Just hope all goes to plan. Never done this without being induced so it'll be a nice experience hopefully.

How did you get on out of interest? I’ve had a sweep today to find I’m 2cm dilated and this is my second baby.

@GT99 Still here and pregnant it's exhausting in this heat isn't it 😔.

Also had another Sweep Friday and still nothing.
