Postpartum bleed (TMI PIC)

I’m 9 days PP - bled a lot after birth (750ml)

bleeding has pretty much stopped most days, not bled at all today apart from a bit of brown when I wipe.

just had a shower, about 10 mins after getting out I had a trickle of blood running down my leg. Put a pad on and had this much blood on it in 5 mins

seems to have stopped mostly now but still bloody when I wipe. Is this normal, or do I need to go to the hospital. Freaking out

I was still losing that much up to 3 weeks after my c section. Not sure if that means it's normal but it was my experience and I was ok x

Thanks for replying. I think with my first I bled like a period amount for about 4 weeks. But think this time it’s freaking me out because I had such a big bleed after delivery and because it had almost stopped and then just this gush from nowhere

9 days PP I was bleeding that amount too and I lost almost 2L blood with my first vaginal delivery. It can start and stop if you're overdoing it a bit, or if you're breastfeeding I found.

Totally normal op. It can stop/start for quite a few weeks

Thanks so much everyone. Everything on Google suggests that the red bleeding should have stopped around day 5! Got myself in such a state x

I was bleeding (red blood) with my first for 6 weeks and my second for 3 weeks. I honestly wouldn't worry about that amount of bleeding but like with anything keep an eye on it ☺️

meganna · 15/06/2024 22:53

I wouldn't describe that as red blood personally! I guess everyone is different though, but with my second I had a c section and bled for about 8 weeks, various amounts and colours. I honestly wouldn't worry

Was the same for me after my kids.

Congratulations hun x

It can stop / start. I had a c-section and lost an above average amount of blood. Bleeding was off and on after the birth. I found as well that it changed depending on how much DD was breastfeeding. MW said that was normal and breastfeeding can restart the bleeding.
