Early scan dating behind

Hi, I had an early scan today and by my dates I should be 7.5 wks. The scan showed the sac, yolk and what they thought might be the start of a fetal pole. No heartbeat. The sonographer said my scan is consistent with 6 weeks. I’m really clear on my dates though as I did OPKs etc. I went for a scan a week ago and there was nothing there but the sac so it’s grown and appeared in the week. Has this happened to anyone else? What was the outcome? I need to wait 2 weeks to the next scan and it’s all pretty horrible tbh. Last week I assumed it wasn’t viable, now there’s a bit of hope but I’m scared.

Hey, I went through this in Jan. Went for a scan at 7 weeks to be told baby measured 5 weeks with no HB, a scan a week later at 8 weeks showed a baby and HB measuring 6 weeks.

Unfortunately rescan after another two weeks showed the baby hadn't grown with no HB 😞 I had been tracking ovulation so I was always 100% sure of dates so I never had a good feeling about it. I did hear of stories with positive outcomes at the time where women hadn't known for sure when they'd ovulated.

The wait is awful, but I really hope for a good outcome for you x

@ThelastRolo20 thank you for telling me and sorry you went through that. I would almost have preferred they just confirmed the bad news today, a glimmer of hope is really unsettling. I’m conscious of my age (40) and if it’s not ok I just want to keep trying. How long ago did this happen for you?

@Harrjenk it was back in January, the day after the confirmation scan I had an MVA which went really smoothly, I had 3 months off before trying in April and I was fortunate enough to get pregnant straight away and I'm now coming up to 9 weeks ❤️

There is always hope if this pregnancy doesn't work out. I know what you mean about just wanting to know - it's such a difficult wait x
