Bounty Photos

Hi all,

Are hospital bounty photos still a thing? I'm 31 weeks pregnant with my third and just curious if this is still a thing. I recall with my first a photographer coming around in hospital after birth to do professional photos. My second was a covid baby so this wasn't a thing at that time. So I'm not sure if it's resumed or just stopped all together.

No specific reason why I'm asking just curious as they were lovely photos with my 1st and may just do my own at home when this ones born if its no longer a thing.

Not when I had my third back in October thank goodness. I hope they have stopped it, the maternity ward is no place for pushy sales people.

Congratulations OP, find a local photographer, the photos are better and my newborn shoot was cheaper than bounty photos.

No it’s not a thing x

Bounty have gone from the wards? Thank fuck.

Gowlett · 14/06/2024 23:32

I’ve never heard of this. Who lets them in?
I would have thought the ward is private…

😂 😂 😂

Thank good they have gone, it was completely inappropriate to have them on the maternity ward with women at such a vulnerable time and they were trying to extract money out of them. When I had our child I told the very pushy bounty lady where to go.

OooohAhhhh · 15/06/2024 06:57

It was a thing back in 2018 with my first born, but in 2022 they was nowhere to be seen. I ordered what I thought was free in 2018, turns out it was £30, and the free was really misleading. What you actually got for free was tiny key ring sizes. I'm glad they were no longer around after my second. As nice as the concept is to get a newborn pic, they were still really pushy with sales. Not something we want to be dealing with a few hours after giving birth.

allgoodthings84 · 15/06/2024 08:41

I think they stopped during and never came back after covid. I had my first in 2015 and was really annoying not long after my EMCS having to move so they could take pictures, she was really pushy. I had my second in August last year and they if they were there I would have just said no from the start and refuse.

It's great if they have gone. I found it so inappropriate when they came round.

katmarie · 15/06/2024 09:09

I think Bounty went bust, a while back.

katmarie · 15/06/2024 09:11

Or at least the photography arm.of the business was put into administration apparently.

Mummymc2009 · 25/08/2025 15:52

If it wernt for bounty I wouldn't of got the best photos of my son who passed away 2 days later absolutely beautiful pictures thank fuck for bounty

Mummymc2009 · 25/08/2025 15:54

And they didnt forxe you to pay for the photos if you couldnt afford them there was no pressure just a nice opportunity for parents who are going through hell

Mummymc2009 · 25/08/2025 15:58

And they didnt force you to have them done or pay for the photos if you couldnt afford them there was no pressure just a nice opportunity for parents who are going through hell and never got a chance to go to a photographer

Mine was born at a weekend, so missed the Bounty person if they came to the ward.

Just Googled and
' The Company was placed into Administration on 29 November 2022 '

Once upon a time there would be baby photographers in Mothercare and supermarkets, and other various offers around.
I managed to get dd done every 6 weeks for the first few months then something like every other month for ages.

But nowadays everyone seems to have smart phones now and social media.

Iloveeverycat · 25/08/2025 16:05

You got sent the pictures then you decided if you wanted to buy them. Mine had theirs before smart phones so it was nice to have a professional photo. With old cameras you didn't know what the pictures were going to be like like until you had them developed so all of the photos might not have been any good.

OooohAhhhh · 16/09/2025 23:43

No, they did one after covid and thankfully never came back, it was so intrusive.

DappledThings · 16/09/2025 23:48

Never saw them in 2016 or 2017. Would never have heard of them if it wasn't for MN
