Mosquito bites while pregnant

I'm abroad and unfortunately managed to get a few mosquito bites before slathering myself in repellent. I'm allergic so they've come up as big red itchy welts, as is usual for me. I would normally take an antihistamine, but the pharmacist has told me that's not safe in pregnancy and sent me away with calamine lotion. The itching is driving me mad - anyone have any other remedies I could try that are safe in pregnancy?? I'm almost 20 weeks. TIA.

Have you got access to ice? I get horrible bites and I use ice packs to take the heat and the itch out. Obviously don’t apply directly to skin (use a thin cloth) but that’s always been how I get relief.

You can take loretadine tablets. Also look into mosquinto patches. They are brilliant

Thank you @BC2603 - I've put ice on the worst bites and I think it's helping!

Thanks to you too @oustedbymymate - not heard of mosquito patches before... will try and track them down
