Maternity allowance help!

Hi all, if you’ve received maternity allowance lately please help me!

So I sent off my application back in April and received my decision letter stating I would be receiving the full £184.03 a week. I then just needed to send off the form with that letter when I finished work to start maternity leave. I sent this letter last Monday 3rd June when my maternity leave started. Today I have seen in my bank account a pending payment of £26.29 coming into my account from DWP MA. I’m very confused what this payment is considering I should be receiving £184.03 a week and they send payments either every two or four weeks? Has anyone had this before?

Hey OP. Are you being paid via your workplace as they should be sorting all that out? I know mine are x

@AimeeLou84 no it’s maternity allowance so it comes from the government as when I joined my job I was already pregnant x

It sounds like you are going to be receiving the lower amount- have you double checked that you meet criteria for the full amount?

I would get in touch with them directly, that amount would be the lower amount so definitely query it asap x

£26.29 is 1/7 of the full weekly rate. Are you getting 1 day for the 1st week of your claim. Then the full week for subsequent weeks?

@xyzandabc i saw that £26.29 is 1/7th! Just don’t know why it’s being paid to me. Since I sent back the second form after the confirmed id be receiving the full amount I haven’t heard anything from them so it’s very strange!
