Hi

just wondered if anyone had any experience with small abdominal circumference or small femur length at 20 week scan below 10th percentile.
we have been referred for another scan but just wondered if anyone was in or have been a similar position and the outcome?

thank you.

I’m just going through this,

do you mind me asking what was the outcome of your next scan?

We were told one of the head (frontal lobe?) measurements was too big when DS2 was scanned. We were also told he was a girl.

Came back a week later after googling all manner of scary things, we were told the initial scan was incorrect, itv was a "normal" size oh and that she was a he!

I know it's impossible not to worry though op. But the baby can move around and then they might get a different measurement next time.

When's your next scan?

Sorry you are going through a similar thing!
I’m 32 weeks now (with twins just FYI) and both babies now have their own growth charts they need to follow.

We’ve had regular growth scans with a consultant ever since our 20 week appointment and they’ve continued to track well until recently where our twin 1 has started to slow down. We are now having scans more regularly with the decision to not let the pregnancy go past 37 weeks. We are taking it scan by scan with next steps and decisions being made right there and then with the fetal medicine team.

in our case, there seems to be no obvious reason as to why the AC and FL are small. It’s just means it affects the overall estimated weight formula, which in our case means they will most likely be premmie baby size when we have them maybe 4lbs ish

what’s going on with your scans? Xx

My little girl had a tiny AC resulting in induction. She is now 80th centile for weight and height and it didn’t take long for her to grow the cutest pot belly. Please try not to worry. Any chance you and your husband are slim/ not that tall? My DH and I are both slim and the doctors said she was probably like us.

@Harri899 that's amazing! Glad she’s doing well!!

id say we are both kinda medium heights. He’s maybe 5’10 and more of a muscle slim/medium build and im like 5’5 size 10. Funny thing is we were both massive babies 😂
at 20 weeks I was very worried but we’ve had a rollercoaster of a pregnancy. Now I just keep thinking if the consultant lets us go home and doesn’t need to see us for 2 weeks that must be something positive and 2 weeks longer that they’re inside! Xx
