17 weeks and spotting

I've had some spotting over the last week after wiping. Hospital scanned me and said baby/placenta was fine.

Midwife questioned cervical erosion but not yet had an internal.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar?? I'm so neurotic with this pregnancy I'm thinking the worse every time!!!

Glad your scan went well. It is not very helpful your mw speculating, you need to have an internal to rule out any problems asap, have you got one booked? When I had bleeding I was checked out the same day. Being neurotic and pregnancy come as one by the way as many will tell you on here I would not worry about being neurotic.

The bleeding didn't subside so I've just got back from hospital where they had a good look at me......I had my os checked and it's closed. Doc also took 3 HVS to check for infection. Foetal heart rate heard and was fine.

As for erosion....no signs! That was a wrong guess by the MW then :-)

Feel very much reassured now that I've been and I agree, speculation isn't a good thing when you're pregnant and neurotic (as I most def am!!!!).

I bled throughout my pg with ds (from 6 weeks onwards) & a bit in my pg with dd.
Incidentally, i was eventually diagnosed with cervical erosion (at 35 weeks) and the doctor got all her mates round to have a good look because it was such a good one - the doc at ?16 weeks had said no erosion, so don't rule it out (its common & benign)
Apparently (according to my mw) bleeding in pg is very, very common - & a lot of the time the docs never know what caused it (not very helpful I know)

hi im 19 weeks and i still have a bleed every now and again. my midwife says that this is all normal during pregnancy, does anyone disagree?

when having a bleed i get severe period pain for about an hour and that is it, but i dont know what it could be or if i should be worried as this is my first child!

I had spotting from 14 weeks till well into third trimester with my last pregnancy - would stop and start but never with a gap of more than 2 weeks. Baby was (is, but now nearly 3 years old) totally fine - after various scans and internals they decided on cervical erosion but took a couple of months to decide on that as probable cause. Now pregnant with no.2 - 14 weeks and no bleeding so far. Just wanted to say it can definitely turn out to be fine.

I had spotting and it turned out to be mmc at 18 weeks - but baby died much earlier so that's clearly not the case with you. If baby is still going strong at 17 weeks odds are WAY in your favour.
