5 weeks - barely any symptoms? Worried it’ll be another chemical

Hello,

I’m 5 weeks tomorrow, I’ve had no symptoms really - my breasts felt slightly tingly but it soon went, I have constipation and am FREEZING cold but that’s it!

I had a chemical pregnancy at 5 weeks earlier in the year and am taking progesterone pessaries, so worried the progesterone is masking a miscarriage.

I feel so anxious, I can’t think of anything else!

My son is 6 and I’m sure I had a few symptoms by this stage with him - I never got morning sickness though!

I think it's normal to not feel much in the way of symptoms at this stage. I had nothing except that freezing cold feeling. Until about 7 weeks when I started feeling the fatigue and sickness set in. Every pregnancy can be completely different so try not to compare to your pregnancy with your son. I'm so sorry for your previous loss also, it understandably causes so much heightened anxiety when you've been through a loss. I hope you can get an early scan to put your mind at ease. Best of luck x

Aw thank you so much for responding, that’s really reassuring :) I’ve booked one for when I am 6 weeks, so fingers crossed all will be well! X

Anyone else have any experience in this? Sorry, my head is going ten to the dozen! The scan is on Friday but I've spent nearly two weeks overanalysing 😔

AH2023 · 12/06/2024 14:02

I am 5+2 and no symptoms other than slightly sore boobs on and off (mainly off). Worrying won’t change the outcome so I am choosing to feel good! I have also had a cp in April.

allfurcoatnoknickers · 12/06/2024 14:08

With #1 I had absolutely no symptoms until 7 weeks and then developed HG so bad it almost killed us both 🙃. So...you've got time.

Heirian · 12/06/2024 14:15

I had nothing till 6 weeks with DS1 when I felt so weird I checked. He was unplanned. DS2 we tried for and I felt them a bit earlier but wouldn't have been at 5 weeks. I honestly think it means nothing OP.

@allfurcoatnoknickers yikes, hope all was well in the end, you HG ladies must be very tough!

allfurcoatnoknickers · 12/06/2024 14:30

@Heirian I've had it twice! I must be insane.

Mine kicked in big time from around 6 weeks

BabyBorn · 13/06/2024 04:45

I am the same as you. 5 weeks 1 day today. No symptoms apart from feeling colder too! How strange! Also needing the loo more but I am drinking loads.

Unfortunately I started spotting red blood yesterday evening. I got ready for bed early and rested. Fell asleep at 8.30pm! Hence being awake now at 4.41am! ConfusedHave been to the loo twice through the night and no more blood as of yet.

Luckily have a drs appointment in the morning so hopefully they can refer me for an early scan but bit too early yet. Will ask to have bloods done to see if my HCG levels match up with my dates!

Hand holding with you here and hopefully you will start to get symptoms in the next few weeks to put your mind at ease. Try and push for an early scan xx

How are you all doing today? I'm 6/7 weeks, have had heartburn and felt really full since about 5 weeks, and the last few days felt nothing :( trying not to worry, but really concerned. I had a MMC with my first pregnancy where this happened around 8/9 weeks, and I only found out at 12 weeks. But my second pregnancy, symptoms stopped and I had a healthy baby. Trying to relax as I know it could be nothing but I just want the symptoms back now 😞

BabyBorn · 13/06/2024 13:20

Hiya @HelpMeDrRanj it's always so worrying whatever we experience isn't it 🥴

Thinking about it I don't think I get symptoms until week 7-8. Any obvious ones like morning sickness anyway. Heartburn and feeling full are good signs. I also feel so full and bloated and I'm eating sensibly and not too much.

I went to the drs this morning and they are referring me for an early scan. Just waiting for a phone call to book it in. I also discovered I have a UTI so explains why I have felt niggly pains the last week! On antibiotics 😩 The bleeding has been more like spotting and is mostly brown now so fingers crossed it dies down. He said it is quite normal to spot and bleed in early pregnancy 🤷‍♀️ well I know it's not normal for me!

Hope the rest of you are ok!

I know I’m a little late to the party for this one, but I found this thread while searching the exact same thing! I’m currently 5 weeks pregnant and have zero symptoms. This is my 5 pregnancy, but I’ve had 2 MMC & 2 chemical pregnancies. In both MMC I had horrific morning sickness and felt generally awful and I’m sure it was around this time! So I’m now panicking! Because of my history I do a pregnancy test every morning and compare it to the last. I know this isn’t healthy but I guess it’s my way of coping with the anxiety. I just wondered how you were all getting on? ☺️

HelpMeDrRanj · 20/06/2024 06:57

Hi again, how are you guys getting on? My symptoms came back strongly after maybe half a week? I've never felt so ill in any pregnancy as I do now, but trying to be grateful that things seem to be going well. Hope yours have all come back too, but even if they haven't you still may be completely healthy, just lucky to have fewer symptoms 🤞x
