This I posted this in the wrong area so re-posting here (I'm new so apologies for the double post)

Hi,

I am planning my next child but would like to be prepared as much as possible.

I have read about different private tests here on Mumsnet but don't understand the difference between them all (Harmony, Amino, NIPT, Chromosome etc). I would like as much reassurance with my next pregnancy, if it happens according to plan.

  • What tests are available privately and what are they for?
  • What order or at what stage of pregnancy can you have them?
  • How much does each cost- I know this can differ but from your experience?
  • Did you feel reassured?
  • Was your baby ok in the end, was there anything unexpected at all?

Thank you in advance.

You can pay for pretty much any test you want privately depending on the provider. If you literally google ‘antenatal screening’ it will come up with what different providers offer and a list of costs. Probably more reliable than asking mumsnet. In my opinion the NHS offer the necessary ones what else do you actually want looking at?
