Hi!

Where can I get the above? What makes are the best? And does it really work to encourage labour?

I am 38 weeks but heard you can have it from 34 weeks.

Thanks!

Blue x

I got it from holland and barratt.
I didnt like it much but i stil drank about 1-2 cups a day for the last few weeks
Dunno if it helped much though i dunno wot it would have been like without it

H&B too - don't think it encourages labour - it is a uterine toner (I think) and is supposed to make 2nd stage of labour more effective and quicker.

ahhh I see. Does it taste nice? :-)

went for tablets myself - not a big fan of herbal teas etc and I read that tablets were just as good (and it says on the packet you can split the capsule and make a drink out of them if you want)

you need to get the proper leaves apparently, from health food shops, tastes awful but you can mix with a fruit tea. i drank alot and had a 48 hour labour with 12 or so pushes at the end so not sure its that good, and baby was 4 days late.

madcol · 07/04/2008 11:12

I didn't have it as leaves I bought it a teabags. Quite palatable. Went A bit overboard having it 4 times a day as so desperate to get going naturally.

Other problems stopped me going into labour naturally. Definitely worth trying.

(Got it from Holland and Barrett)

1st pregnancy i drank it (as well as other things) to try and get labour started asap when they gave me a date for induction as they thought baby might be getting too big 9she was born 6lb 1oz!)Didnt work, was induced at 38=5 weeks,40 hours of labour later I had an emergency csection.
2nd pregnancy i drank it as i definatly wanted a natural birth this time round, went into labour day after due date had ventouse delivery 2hours later.

Like i said b4 dont know if it would have been different if i hadnt drank it but its not going to do any harm so might as well try it

It doesnt make labour come any quicker.
Just tones your uterus, lots of us on the due april 08 thread actually had false contractions as well which may have been from taking it as it tones the uterus.
It's meant to be good for quicker and stronger labours, not earlier ones.
