Hi All,

Just looking for some advice really. 6w 3d roughly.

On Saturday when I wiped I had really brown discharge like old blood. It was in the morning and then seemed to go away. I wore a pad nothing reached it.
Next day I had some more in the morning lighter brown this time but still there.
Same continued each day. Today though it was pinky and brown.

It's only when I wipe and mainly in the morning.

Any advice greatly appreciated

Don’t panic. See your midwife/gp and talk to them.

i had bleeding in a pregnancy and it was a fibroid but find out x

Spotting is very very common in really really common in early pregnancy and what you’ve described does not sound too concerning. However it will I’m sure feel terrifying for you. As you’re over 6 weeks your local EPU should be able to offer reassurance and might even be able to give you an early scan x

I have an appointment with them tomorrow, the epu that is when I called on Monday it was the best they could do. I just thought it would have stopped by now. It seems to only be in the morning it happens. This is an ivf pregnancy and I'm on clexane and aspirin so maybe they are contributing but I have to stay on them as I had a 17w loss

@roro87 My pregnancies have also been ivf. I know how long and difficult a journey it is, and must have been an awful experience having a loss at 17w. Are you on progesterone suppositories too? They can sometimes irritate your cervix. Hope everything is ok at your scan tomorrow

roro87 · 06/06/2024 09:07

Yes so I'm on progesterone injections and then I have suppositories and a gel. So I use the suppositories every night so would have thought the spotting would stop. I know it's not a huge amount or really dark etc it's just how long it's going on. I've even been relatively calm about it but this morning I was just upset because it had been easing a little.

For me it meant a mc. No bleeding with pgs that went to term. But each of is different.

I have had brown discharge since Tues - more than you, I get a light line on a pad but not much and it is worse in the morning, I was told this is because of gravity, building up overnight and then once you stand up it's discharged. By evening there's nothing

I was told it's very hard to say - some people have bleeding/ discharge and everything is fine and others it is a sign of a miscarriage. However, mainly they seem concerned mine is a miscarriage as I've also got cramping.

Sounds like potentially the pessaries as well? Might be worth asking about if this could be causing it and has nothing to do with your baby?

They said there are lots of things which can cause a bleed tho so without investigating they don't know. Glad you're set up with a scan, hopefully that will give some reassurance, wishing you so much luck, I know how worrying it can be x

CockapooLove · 06/06/2024 12:42

I had this for a few days around 6 weeks pregnant - it’s usually normal as long as it’s not bright red but best to get it checked x

Hi All.

I had my scan on Friday last week all was well. Baby was measuring dead on with a heartbeat so 6w+5d at the time.

I'm now 7+2 I guess as it's after midnight. The brown discharge I was getting stopped for two days on Friday and Saturday but was back on Sunday. Then tonight I went to the toilet at 3am and I wiped to see light pink. I investigated further and the below came out.

I'm going to ring epu in the morning to be sure everything is OK but I don't know if they will see me again so soon. I've an appointment for Thursday two weeks. It seems to have all stopped again now.

Also in the pic it looks like clots it's not just stained progesterone.

Could this be what is happening each night and by morning it is brown? Or should I be really worried about this.

I'm so worried as never had this before.

@roro87 Just phone EPU for some reassurance x

roro87 · 11/06/2024 08:29

EPU won't see me for 2.5 weeks. Feel like I'm really out on my own.

@roro87 I would imagine that they are not too concerned then. Sorry you're stuck just having to wait and see. Fingers crossed for you

Ladybug320 · 18/05/2025 21:30

@roro87 hiw did this turn out? It’s so hard when you have infertility or history of loss. I’ve started spotting today and have a history of miscarriage so very nervous. I started progesterone but rectally as I’d read vaginally can cause bleeding!

I really hope you’re holding your baby right now ❤️

roro87 · 18/05/2025 21:34

@ladybug320 all turned out OK, have a gorgeous almost 4m old baby girl. My spotting only stopped when I stopped all my meds at 12/13 weeks. It's so hard. I hope everything works out for you too x
